This policy explains what the Alpha School mobile and web application collects, why, and who it is shared with. The app is operated by Alpha School, a private education centre in Kokand, Uzbekistan, for the use of its own enrolled students and its staff.
Accounts are created by Alpha School administrators for enrolled students and employed staff. The app has no public sign-up, and it is not intended for or directed at children under 13.
Account and contact information. Name, email address, phone number and postal address, entered by a school administrator when your account is created. Your email address and password are used to sign you in.
School records. Depending on your role, the app stores lesson schedules, attendance records, homework assignments and submissions, exercise answers and results, group membership, and payment and enrolment records.
Staff payroll information. For employees only, the app stores salary calculations, bonuses, deductions and related payroll records.
Location — staff only. The app reads the device's location at the moment a member of staff records a work-shift event: checking in, checking out, and leaving or returning during a shift. Each reading is taken once, at that moment, to confirm the event happened at the school premises. Location is not collected from students, is never read in the background or between these events, and is not used for tracking or advertising.
Photos and camera. The app can open your camera or photo library so you can attach images to homework and lessons. Images are accessed only when you choose to attach one, and only the images you select are uploaded.
Device and notification data. A device identifier, the platform (Android, iOS or web) and a push notification token, so that notifications reach the correct device and so administrators can manage which devices are authorised to use an account.
Data is visible inside the app only to the people who need it for their role — for example, your teachers and school administrators. Beyond that, we use two service providers to run the app:
These providers process data on our behalf. We do not share your data with anyone else, except where we are required to by law.
School records are kept while you are enrolled or employed at Alpha School, and afterwards for as long as the school needs them for its own administrative and accounting purposes. You may ask us to delete your data sooner, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it by law.
Because accounts are created and managed by the school, you cannot delete your own account from inside the app. To request access to your data, a correction, or deletion of your account and its data, contact your school administrator or email us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access rules that limit each account to the records its role permits. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
